Improvement of railway infrastructure – establishment of monitoring systems for safety, security and technical controls

 

This Project is a continuation of the investment into modernization of the railway transport infrastructure in the Republic of Croatia, aimed to enhance safety and interoperability in the Croatian part of the Mediterranean corridor and on the other section of the Core Network and will contribute to the further development of the Trans-European Transport Network.

The Grant Agreement no. INEA/CEF/TRAN/M2019/2097375 was signed on November 11, 2020 between the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) and HŽ Infrastruktura d.o.o., approving the funds from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for co-financing, in the amount of EUR 14,509,242 which is 85 percent of the total eligible costs of the Project amounting to EUR 17,069,696 and the remaining 15 percent of eligible costs of the Project in the amount of EUR 2,560,454 will be co-financed from the State Budget of the Republic of Croatia.

This Project of HŽ Infrastruktura will include installation of the equipment to ensure technical control of the railway vehicles in motion and information exchange on the Core Network (TEN-T) in the Republic of Croatia, and the introduction of an automated system for monitoring rail traffic as well as automatic gathering of safety data, technical train parameters and real time train and rail interactions at nine locations.

Implementation period of the Project is from 2020 to 2023.
